RE: [Harp-L] New Sebastien Charlier Album + Harmonix

Hello,

I've forgotten to mention that Sebastien Charlier has used the Harmonix
system on some of the tunes:
http://www.harmonix-harmonica.co.uk/

As far as I could understand, this system developed by Richard Smith, turns
the harp into an electric instrument.
Does anyone here play with this system? I guess I am not the only one who
would be very interested by more detailed explanations and a feedback.

Best regards,

Jerome

Objet : [Harp-L] New Sebastien Charlier Album, WONDERFUL !!!

Hi !

Just to let you know that the new Sebastien Charlier?s album is on sale
(there is a new ?Shop? category on www.sebcharlier.com
<http://www.sebcharlier.com/> , or you can download it on any music
platform - I Tunes, Amazon, ?).

I?ve just received it and it is absolutely incredible!!!

A pure groovy and funky Jazz/Rock album, with an amazing international band
including two legends: Curt Bisqueira (L.A. drummer) and Alain Caron
(Canadian, ex Uzeb member).

Plus Sebastien Charlier?s playing ? WOW!!!!

You like or dislike the music, but I?m sure you?ve never ever heard anything
like that on a harmonica!

I didn?t even know it was possible to play this way with a harp, although I
am a big fan of Howard Levy and know Sebastien?s work and evolution for few
years now.

I?ve read many interesting interviews from him, where he develops the
?Harmonica Next Gen? concept.

Unfortunately, they are all in French. For those interested anyway, let me
know, I?ll get the URLs for you.

I think this CD is very much inspired by the best of Jazz / Rock American
music, from the 80?s to nowadays, so I?d be very interested by any more
detailed comments from you all.

BTW, I?ve promised to some of you to warn them when Sebastien?s website
would be translated in English.

In fact, it is the case, but I didn?t notice as it is done directly inside
the pages of the actual site (click on ?Show English Version? under each
article), sorry for the delay ?

An example here: http://www.sebcharlier.com/goodies.php (there are very
interesting exercises on this page).

My personal bet is that this album will represent a real step in Harmonica
evolution ? Please send me your comments for those who will listen to it,

Best regards,

Jerome
