Re: [Harp-L] Franco Luciano

Hi Jim
Yes Franco Luciani amazing isn't he, I was put on to him by Fernando Toral from a posting here and i'm very grateful. I've got two of his albums, one of the Franco Luciani Gruppo and one with a piano player Matt Godfrid, which is incredibly passionate and intense - their La Punalada totally gets me. He opens up by tapping out the Milonga rhythm on the covers of the harmonica, brilliant I think.

I'd love to hear that CBC broadcast you mentioned, do you know if it's archived? In the meantime here's a link to a youtube of him playing some Piazzolla

Heard Franco Luciano playing Astor Piazzolla in concert on CBC radio
yesterday. Tango and harmonica is a wonderful marriage, and Luciano is one
of the best players on the planet. All of it live--no recording tricks.
Every time I thought, 'that's it, there's nothing more you can do with a
harmonica', he'd take it to the next level.

linda Lee Thomas was on piano--superb, and Miles Hill on the bass.
