Running a club/organization or a convention is a damned hard and thankless job, especially when you basically do it for free. It's not like you have other things to do in your life. If it were fun and easy, there would be one every week somewhere. Those few people who do all the work are "unreal". If running SPAH were in the real world, they probably would have cut their loses and run by now. When a president is elected by only a few people who bother to vote, it really makes you wonder who/what he's working for, other than for the passion of the instrument. To run an organization "professionally" takes a lot of money and time. Perhaps these "free folks" can work 24 hours a day instead of 20, when things need to get done! No sweat off my back.
