Sorry to disappoint you but I never designed a part of a jet engine.  I was only a young instrument engineer toiling down in the test cells.  Mine was a world of thermocouples, accelerometers, pressure transducers, strain gauges, and oscillographs. However, I did get to see/touch many engines and their components with their clothes off.
