[Harp-L] "Authentic" pronunciation?

What I find as unaesthetic as some obviously white vocalist  
unconvincingly trying to mimic southern African American dialect is  
the pronounced twang affected by so many country music singers.  I  
guess it goes along with the cowboy hats. (Sort of makes me wonder  
when the last time was any of them actually roped a steer?)

Both seem artificial to me. I mean, who are these people trying to  
kid? But I don't like country music anyway. Or make believe blues for  
that matter.
