So I hooked up my harp mic through the rp255 into my son's amp today. It

My musical partner-in-crime glibly says, "I told you, that thing is designed
to drive an amp - not a PA."
he's mistaken. i used it for both. there is an amp/mixer switch on back,
but when experimenting with it at home (with amps) i can't discern any
difference.

So, anyhow, I need to take a closer look at how I hook it up to the PA, and
see if it's possible to remedy this problem. I'll happily take any advice.
i've done this many times without issue. i have an rp250, but i don't believe
a 255 is sufficiently different to matter. i use a 1/4" cable plugged into the left
output (don't recall why left, or if it matters) going straight into the PA. many
different PA's, for that matter. never an issue.

I wonder about impedance, but I simply went 1/4 inch instrument cable from
the RP's output into the 1/4 inch jack on one of the PA channels.
should be right. was the PA in question the venue's, or your band's?
if the latter you could at least experiment with it.

i don't use my 250 any more, since the power supply connection got flaky
and my vox has all the models/effects i need. but i used it, and an rp300
before that, with a variety of amps and PA's for several years without problems,

if you don't have access to a PA, perhaps a friendly local bar where you play
might let you experiment with one during off hours?
