I played a duo with Fruteland Jackson a few years ago and he was using one
while he sat and played guitar. I tried it for myself during a break while
sitting down and liked it, so I figured I'd see if I could get it to work
while I stood. It was awkward in the standard forward position using the
ball of my foot it so I turned the board around,using my heel. It worked
fine for me that way.
