RE: [Harp-L] Hohner Price Increase

I don't think Hohner will endear itself to the market in the same way that
some of my clients think about me. A few minutes ago a grateful client
called and asked if he could take my wife and I out to dinner tonight in
thanks for my help on matter involving his Alzheimer's stricken wife.
Hohner, like most multi-national corps, is not in the warm fuzzies
business. But, it should be in the market share business and it should view
its markets in every country as a valuable resource in the same way that I
view my client base or the fields on my farm. You take care of them. You
preserve them. You give up some profit in bad times and ride out the storm.
You don't burn through your clients or ruin your fields by constantly trying
to increase margin while reducing costs in the face of depressed economy.

Your experience countering knockoffs is fascinating! You feel that Hohner
following your example would endear loyal return customers?
