[Harp-L] RE: So many microphones, so little time

Oh yea Robert-

ON A BUS:
Have done that one a couple of times on a charter bus among folks I know. Those bus driver mics sometimes have decent elements!

IN THE WAREHOUSE:
While working in a warehouse I have picked up the telephone and hit the page button and entertained. Even in a UAW environment. People just love it! Also, at the dock when there is an empty trailer. Walk about half way into the trailer and bam, instant reverb chamber!

I have yet to work up the nerve to do the grocery store check-out line gig but now I'm kinda inspired. Maybe Home Depot; those phones they have in the isles.

I love it!

new Thread! Where do you grab the mic? (does not mean where do you touch it, hold it) I mean where are you when you get the urge, and follow through, playing harp thru a mic??

Following Buck's lead, I will start:

AIRPLANE CABIN
Sitting on the runway, waiting (too long) to deplane, I asked the flight attendant if I could play my harp on her cabin PA/Phone. Something about "hope there's no supervisors on board..."

Announcing myself grandiosely, I said "Ladies and gentlemen, from Phoenix Arizona, the DUKE of WAIL!" and proceeded to play hooks from Low Rider and Angel in the Centerfold, plus "I'm a Man" and the obligatory draw 4/5 trill. Got a round of applause, and sat back down.

I have two more episodes, but I'll wait a turn.

Stay well
Play well
