The Shure SM57 is the most widely used mic for this purpose, and it's hard to go wrong with it.
You might also consider having Ron Holmes at Holmes Engineering, or another qualified amp tech, install a line-out in your Champ. Ron can set it up so the line-out is after the amplifier section, not the pre-amp, so you get the full amp tone in the line-out. Might not cost any more than the SM57, and it'll be easier to set up.
