Are you embossing just the reed-side of the plate, or both sides?

I especially enjoy Thiago's jazzy Tenor Madness:

I first heard him play this tune on stage at the Sacramento SPAH. (Most of his time, however, was spent manning the Bends Harmonica booth.)

Because, probably 80 percent of the moisture gets soaked into the very top of
the comb teeth. But it will still get a little moisture in and will swell a
little, it just won't swell out. The combs aren't very flat, so that little
swelling helps. Even I would recommend only sealing the edges, UNLESS you
flatsand the comb. You're best off flatsanding and sealing the whole thing.

I'm about to try to seal a couple old MB combs that I have and have a question
to you customizers out there. What is the reasoning that I hear to only seal the
edges and not the entire comb? Or is this sort of like the plastic vs. wood
argument?

Thanks. That makes sense but why would anyone seal and not flat sand? I woulda thought that would be automatically a part of sealing.

Thanks again

Dear Harp-lers,

I am again asking for your help. It seems that every time I need a certain piece of music, someone on harp-l knows where I can get it or just sends it to me so here goes. I'm looking for the sheet music to the Larry Adler composition "Genevieve". If there is anyone who might know where I can get it I would really appreciate it.

Thanks so much,

One of the reasons we came out with our marine band 1896 combs (with no
holes), is to help the customizer/tinkerer with building their harps. We
only charge $22 for a Dymondwood or $23 for a natural wood like bamboo (all
sealed and ready to go). If you want them unsealed we charge $16. If you buy
in bulk, we charge even less. Why spend 1-2 hours messin with a pearwood
comb when you can buy a comb that is already to go? I tip my hat to those
that take the time to sand and seal the MB combs, but also invite you to
save a big hassle with our combs. I always ask myself, what is my time
worth? Yes, I could cut my own grass, but I have a huge yard and it would
take 4 hours. I just pay a guy $40 bucks and he does it. ha ha

ROD PIAZZA & THE MIGHTY FLYERS 06/10/11 - Auburn Hills, MI - Callahan's Music Hall

Just in case some of you in Detroit metro suburbs missed the listing on the harmonica gig list.

If you've never been there, Callahan's is a bar that is only open for concerts. Free parking.

I've been there a few times. Missed Kim Wilson, tho'.
