Your second point is very plausible David. While I don't think it was originally intended that way, I happen to know of a few people who, while they are decent players in their own right, the addition of other names has caused them to receive a number of hits on their you tube vids that is way out of proportion to their status. That and placing references to famous composers or other well known tunes. What will invariably happen is that google will automatically pick up these inclusions and pump in references to these other additions. You tube 'flooding' should also cause a string of hits.  

Someone had placed some of my vids from a festival on HIS you tube site and one of the tunes wound up (because of tune name only) on a listing of many other people who did this same tune. So, I was shocked, literally shocked to find out that I wound up on a listing with people like: Antonio Carlos Jobim, Astrid Gilberto, Stan Getz, and several more. I surely didn't belong on that list.
