Re: [Harp-L] New Videos from my Asian Tour

Wow, Brendan...!!!

Jasmine Flower was exquisite, haunting, beautiful and above all it did not seem at all out of place in that ensemble.

Great job!

I'm just back in the chilly UK after a wonderful, warm 10 week swing through
many Asian countries, performing along the way: India, Philippines, Taiwan,
Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore - plus Australia and New
Zealand. I recorded a few slips here and there, and have put a couple up on
YouTube.

Here's one showing the amazing harp-switching technique up close. This could
interest a lot of 10 hole diatonic players who want easy chromaticism, check
it out:

I've been creating new harps to try and play Chinese folk music in an
authentic way, with the big pitch bends they employ - especially on
instruments like the Erhu. Here's a performance of a Chinese tune with three
top students from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music:

It's played on a highly modified Suzuki SCX-48 chromatic.
